Writing

Stationary Bike Blues

Based on an admittedly embarrassing true story, Stationary Bike Blues tells the tale of a high school day gone awry all thanks to hubris and a piece of gym equipment. Done as part of an assignment, this story best exemplifies the comical side of my writing with its dry, self depreciating humour and penchant absurd twists of fate.

Wasteland Hunter

A barren desert harbouring burning rain, crystalized remains, and scum of the earth all for the promise of lost technology that should stay lost. Wasteland Hunter is the first chapter of a in development novel following the strange trek into the outlands. This was the first longer form writing project I've done and marks a clear difference in my typical forms of writing.

To Be Left Alone

A being of the stars drifting along with several lifetimes of tragedy. To Be Left Alone takes a look at wants and needs with it's sole, godlike character and how their world view has left them static and self absorbed amongst the everchanging presence of space.

Vamps and Cowboys

Vamps and Cowboys is a short exercise focused on relationship building broken up across two write throughs. Originally set up as writing a simple interaction between two characters who've just met with the first write through, the second write through came with addition of the characters having some form of pre-established relationship. This in turn required myself to think about how that additional history would then shape their interaction and what would come out of it.
