DiaCorp Escape is the result of a 5 day escape room themed game jam. This game jam, held by Sheridan College as part of "Design Week", saw students from years 1-3 in the Game Design Program come together in randomized groups of 5 or 6 to make a game around a specific theme.

When the team came together on the first day we quickly noticed that we were more geared towards art and narrative design as our primary disciplines. Knowing this, we quickly began ideating on potential game ideas and, rather than focus on any technical difficulties we may face, we opted to lean into our strengths and make a narrative based escape room game.

In terms of my own contributions, I was responsible for the games first puzzle as well as a good bit of work on the games narrative. The first puzzle had to be introduce players to the general idea of the game, while still providing an adequate, simple challenge for players. As for the narrative, the team worked very closely together on it with a lot of interconnected efforts going into it. What this meant for me was focusing on the first room and it's puzzle as well as some narrative touch-ups throughout the rest of the game.
